On behalf of the board of directors and ataff of the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Wayne and Holmes Counties and our funded partner agencies, I want to thank each and every person who voted for the 1-mill, 10 year, replacement levy. We want to express our sincere thanks to all supporters and funded partners who worked for the levy. We extend our gratitude to every community organization who hosted presentations, which enabled us to clarify the purpose of the MHRB, the available services, and funded partner agencies. This has been a valuable process and time well spent with our community.
Mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services are critical to our community, especially at this time. Each day we are reminded that so many can benefit from our services.
Our local funded partners: Anazao Community Partners, Catholic Charities, NAMI Wayne-Holmes, OneEighty, and The Counseling Center of Wayne & Holmes Counties have all contributed to communicating the message that services are available locally and that “Treatment Works & People Recover.”
We have felt the support of so many in our community this fall, including our collaborative agency partners. This levy will fund $3,263,800 per year, to maintain critical services through a cost to the $100,000 homeowner of less than $3/month. This funding will continue services, including treatment of children with emotional problems, emergency outreach to persons in crisis, protection for victims of family violence, and programs for the prevention and treatment of drug and alcohol abuse, and community support for the mentally ill persons and their families.
Our board appreciates the funding to continue access to life-saving mental health and alcohol and drug prevention, treatment, and community support services for citizens of Wayne and Holmes Counties. We are grateful for every voter who has entrusted us with this ongoing mission to fund, monitor and provide mental health and addiction treatment and recovery support services to children, adults, and families in Wayne and Holmes Counties.
