Board of Directors

The Wayne-Holmes Mental Health & Recovery Board is a part of Wayne and Holmes County government that is governed by a volunteer board of 18 Directors.

Brief Biographies of Our Four Newest Board Members.

Janet Boyd – Appointed by the Holmes Co. Commissioners in December 2010. Janet is
an itinerant pre-school special education teacher with an office at the Holmes County
Training Center. As a result of her profession, she understands the need for accessible
mental health services for children and families.

Courtney Dannemiller – Appointed by the Wayne Co. Commissioners in March 2011.
Courtney is the CFO at Wagner Machine, Inc. in Doylestown. She is interested in serving
on the Board to better use her organizational and fiscal qualifications. Courtney feels
her past experience as a foster parent will be an asset to the Board.

Matthew Miller - Appointed by the Ohio Dept. of Mental Health in July 2010. Matthew
is a business analyst at Farm Credit Services in Wooster. He understands both the family
implications of mental health treatment and the sensitivity that a Board member needs.
His financial skills will also benefit the Board.

Paul R. Nielsen, M.D. – Appointed by the Ohio Dept. of Mental Health in October 2010.
Dr. Nielsen recently joined the Milltown Family Practice in Wooster. He has a special
interest in the treatment of depression and other mental illnesses.

Information about the Board of Directors

Board of Director Members are residents of either Wayne or Holmes counties. They make application and are appointed by the county commissioners, Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH), or the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS).

Some members are selected to represent family members, consumers (persons using services) or because they have certain professional credentials. A physician and a mental health professional are included. For more information on becoming a member of the Board call the Board office.

The Board of Directors has the legal responsibility and authority for the planning, funding, and monitoring of mental health and substance abuse recovery services in Wayne and Holmes Counties delivered through its provider agencies.
